The company I work for uses PC's, and recently I got VPN access. I have an old PC at home, and am able to connect using a cisco VPN client, and then simply opening up a port in my internet browser to take over my machine at work.

On my Mac, I can connect to my PC with the cisco client for panther, but when I get to my Windows 2000 machine, i must login to it using CTRL-ALT-DEL. I cannot send this particluar keystroke from my mac to the PC so I can never login to it. The only thing I can think of doing is leaving my pc unlocked, but I dont really want to do that.

COuld someone give me some information on maybe a PC emulation keyboard software for the mac(Dont even know if it exists), or something where I can send PC keystrokes. I tried Apple-CTRL-ESC, which does the same thing on both systems, but it will not work.

ANy help, I would appreciate it.

Isn't the option key on your Mac keyboard the same as the alt key? Mine says 'alt' in small letters right above 'option'.

Try typing control-option-delete on your Mac keyboard (the control key in this case is not the one with the Apple symbol on it).

Try using a combination of vnc client<->server. I am not sure if this one works, but you can give http://sourceforge.net/projects/cotvnc/ a shot. There usually is an option in the menu to send the magical 3 key stroke...

Thanks for all the help. The Remote Desktop client would work in about 3 months. That is when they are giving us XP at work. We have 2000 now and Remote Desktop will not work.

As far as the other ideas, that gives me something to try.

Thanks a bunch!!

I think you can install terminal services on win 2000 pro. Go to Start Menu, Settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Add/Remove Windows Components, check Terminal Services then run through the wizard. It might ask your for a win 2k pro install cd.
