Hello

Situation:

PwM G4 QS 933MHz with Mac OS X 10.3.7

next occuring problem:

PwM doesn't boot anymore meaning when I push the power button, within the PwM the vans starts turning but after a second all drops dead.

Already tried:

PMU button --> no result
Logicboard reset --> no result
Different power supply --> no result
New logicboard --> no resultaat (same symptons, boots for a second and drops dead)

Does anyone had a similar problem or does anyone have a solution for me?

Thx

Usually, if a Quicksilver is dead, we just pull the battery off of the MLB for about 10 minutes. If that fails, I've noticed Quicksilvers be MPU (processor) more often than logic board. Sounds like that may be the case. Your logic board may be fine (and I stress MAY) but you want to try a new processor next.

Allready tried with the battery, no result. Going to search a different processor and try it. May'be I'll get some result!

Anybody suggestions?

Have had something similar (not quite the same) but in my case, there were warning signs the processor on my QS dual gig was dying. Namely, intermittent kernel panics of the thread_invoke: preemption_level -1 variety from one or both cpus. Eventually after one of those, no system gong, the fans come on and just a dark blank screen. The difference is my system didn't power off until I hit the switch again.

I've been getting those same intermittent panics again so I think this replacement (which was done a little over an year ago) is also going bad (the first happened around 1.25 years after I bought it).
