On the day of the announcement, I went to a dealer near me and ordered a Mac Mini with Bluetooth, Airport, Superdrive and 512 MB RAM (along with a 1 GB shuffle).
I haven't gotten either one yet.
I'm reading a number of posts here about people who ordered from Apple after I did who've gotten their orders.
Did ordering from a dealer put me at the bottom of the list, or are there many other people who ordered that first day and also haven't gotten their order?

I ordered a Mini BTO from the Apple Store.

1.25GHz
upgraded to 80gb
upgraded to 512mb ram
added AE + BT
added Superdrive

Ordered: 1/31/05
Ship on or before: 3/1/05

If that is direct from Apple who knows when your dealer will ship, I don't know how they get theirs, i'm not sure if I would expect them to get priority over orders direct to their store.

Perhaps you were bearish to the dealer. Or maybe your nose…

The Apple Stores in my area are actually putting people on a list. According to them they've been getting a few here and there, small shipments. I'm 7 on the list now and would love to finally have it for my wife this weekend.

I've spoke to 2 different people at CDW that say they are expecting a big shipment on the 11th. They also have a store just a short distance away.

We'll see!

I ordered the same Mini (minus the BT and Superdrive) on 1/19/05. Apple said it would take 3-4 weeks to deliver but it only took 2. FedEx says my mini should arrive at my house by noon tomorrow.

Slick shoes?!! Are you crazy?!!

Seriously? Wow, now you have my hopes up haha

I need to head to the nearest Apple store (Syracuse) and pick up the bluetooth keyboard so I have it ready when the Mini shows up!!!

I realllllly hope it comes sooner than 3/1!

Of course it does says "On or before", so lets hope its before

No.

Even ordering from the Online Apple Store does not spare you from delays

Call them up, they may be able to tell you more. I had ordered a Mini on 2/1 and even though it said it would ship by 3/1 online, when I called them up they said that it could ship as early as 2/23.

Found it in stock somewhere else yesterday (Tekserve) and canceled my order with Apple, so I can't say how it would have turned out. My mini should be arriving this afternoon
