I'm just curious

Whose dual 2.0 G5's came with 970FX CPUS (identified as PPC 970 rev 3.0)? My new one (picked up at the end of January, 1 week ago, with a build date also that month) has the original 970, rev 2.2 (.13 micron, vice the newer .09). I figured the .13 would have been phased out by now (but I guess yield on these should be really good by this point, if they're still being made).

My previous two machines in the previous week were dual 1.8's, and both had the 970FX. Both were returned due to a power-related failure-to-start problem with the 6800 Ultra (they'd run fine when started, but would take several presses on the power button)... seems they've started using cheaper power supplies with the dual 1.8s, that used to be used only on the single cpu machines. The dual 2.0 and 2.5 retain the higher output 600W power supply, and have no problem with my 6800 Ultra (so far, knock on wood).

I do have to say I like the motherboard of the 2.0 better (RAM slots etc). The fans spin up much more often (cpu fans) than the 1.8's did, but it's not an annoying sound. With the Zalman 6800 cooler I added in place of the stock 6800 Ultra cooler, I'm a pretty happy camper. But I am curious about CPU's... who's getting FX's in their 2.0s? Anyone?

You mean this ?

I got my DP 2.0 first week of August 2004, I think shortly after they started using the .09 CPU's. This one was assembled in Ireland. I've read here of people who ordered on the same date and got .13 CPU's, I guess it is luck of the draw...
I love my DP, and have had absolutely 0 problems.

stuffing feathers up your b*tt doesn't make you a chicken.
