If I buy one of the inexpensive eMac's that have no modem, tiny disk, and no optical drive...

Can I buy one of the $75 SuperDrives and install it in the eMac?
Or do they remove the ability to plug in an optical drive in the "no optical drive" eMacs?

Can someone point me to installation instructions?


(I have a network of Macs... the server houses everyone's home directory... so, no need for big hard drive or modem... but the people do need a SuperDrive... but it makes no sense to pay an extra $250 just to get a SuperDrive installed by Apple, since the SuperDrive eMacs come with modem and bigger disk also!)

I have never seen an eMac without an optical drive. If you have one to look at, you can pop off the bottom plate and see, as that's where the optical drive plugs in.
