There were once four people named Everybody, Somebody, Nobody and Anybody. Somebody had to do a job, but Nobody wanted to do it. Nobody could see that Anybody could do it, and Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job. Nobody ended up doing it, and it so happened that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Rule one is that you never know. However, there has to be a Powermac update before the next iMac update, and probably an eMac update as well, so it's not coming tomorrow. Say late march at the soonest, but then, never forget rule one.

If you are going to wait for any reason I would say wait until After Tiger is released as it is supposed to be optimized for 64 bit processors (from what I understand i could be wrong). The fan noise issue is relative IMO. I personally do not find the fans to be loud on my iMac at all and the only way I can see them addressing the "noise" issue would be to have larger fans (circumferance-wise that is) which I cannot see happening as they would have to redesign the Midplane board etc a bit to accomodate this.
