Trying to burn a cd with iTunes and tried about three different cds. On the last one I got an error message that said something about the burn not working because it couldn't buffer. ??? not really sure what this means. Sorry for being vague. Could it just be the cd-rs? Or is "buffering" (again sorry) a problem with the burner itself.

how much RAM does your e-mac have? sometimes if you don't have enough the cdr drive gets starved for data

1GB, which is probably overkill.

1GB of RAM ought to do the trick... The next thing to try would be to go into the preferences menu of iTunes, then select burning. Try lowering the burn speed and seeing if that works. Also trying burning cds with only iTunes running. If none of these things works, then the burner itself might have issues. What model of burner is it?

thanks ill see if those things work. It's the internal combo drive that comes standard with eMac. i'm not sure what the model is though (unless combodrive is the model). The cd i tried to burn was an import from Japan, could that have something to do with it? Maybe like DVD's world 1, 2, etc.

here's screenshot of system profiler, it shows how to tell what brand and model of combo drive you have
