Well, the Mac mini sealed it for me. I've been "closet" Mac admirer for a long time; I hate to say this is my Mac "experiment," but it really is. I didn't want to go all-out for my first purchase, so I got the basic 1.25 GHz model with a wired Apple keyboard, but right after I placed the order, bought a 1 GB stick of RAM from Crucial and the 60 GB Hitachi 7200 RPM hard drive, paying a little over what Apple wanted for the 1 GB upgrade alone for both items. I also bought "The Missing Manual: Panther Edition," which a couple of Mac friends said would be beneficial to me. Now, to pick up a putty knife. (Hmm...so much for me not going all out...)

If things work out in my journey with the mini and Mac OS, I'll be buying a new Power Mac around the time Tiger gets an official release. I hope to become another member of the Mac community now, and I plan on enjoying each step in my new adventure into the world of Apple.

It was the promise of OS X and a candy like user-friendly UI that made me drop kick Windows in 2000. Welcome.
