Are you ready for the iMac challenge of 2005?

I have a photo-diary of the problem at the links below. Basically Panther will not install it craps out during install every time.

Vitals:
- Lime green iMac slot load DVD.
- 512MB well tested RAM
- Machines runs stable in OS9
- Brand new 20GB HD
- Firmware upgraded on iMac to latest

Blog with brief description:

It is interesting to note the iMac runs OS9 very well! I have no rewards to offer other than many thanks and 50 Gmail invites

Thanks,
Phil

You are having a kernal panic. Most of the time, in my experience, it is a problem with your RAM. Try a different module if possible. OSX is very picky when it comes to RAM. My old iBook 300MHz had the same problem when I tried to upgrade to Jaguar. I installed a different module and it cleared it right up.
