That's pretty cool. Some shock absorbers and we got ourself a full fledge car computer.
NOW YOU SEE ME! 2.4 MBP and 2.0 MBP (running ubuntu)

Here's a Land Rover install.

There's also a short discussion on whether or not shock absorption is needed. I say you might as well...they say no. And then I wonder whether or not mounting it vertically would help.

Even better: it's a touch screen LCD, so he can use it without a mouse and keyboard (using a virtual keyboard).

agreed turtle.

can you imagine accessing google maps on this thing inside your car?

oh yeah. turn on speakable items and have speak the directions to you!

applescript / realbasic / xcode the possiblity of building apps just for this is endless...

You guys most not've been paying attention or you would've seen that, indeed, someone else has a *better* system already rolling in their Land Rover...

Mac mini and 7" screen (Lilliput; 16x9, touch, 1024x768 [IIRC]), in a freakin' Land Rover!

Granted, it's sitting in the glovebox and powered with an inverter but still.
