hello all,

i friend called me today asking for help. their emac just went through the 10.3.8 update and then prompted for restart. my friend did this but now the machine no longer boots correctly. the power light is on (front of the machine) but the display is black. also the startup chime is no longer heard.

some basic troubleshooting has been performed. ie, disconnect from power and other hints from the emac user manual.

does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this issue.

thanks

If you take off the bottom panel, there's a button on the inside. This is the PMU reset. Unplug the machine from power, push the button, wait ten seconds, plug it back up, and try again.

ACSA 10.4/10.3, ACTC 10.3, ACHDS 10.3
