I've seen some mention of it in the forums but this article is pretty interesting. Perhaps the next revision of the mini could take advantage of it.

something else interesting that I haven't seen mentioned is that the mini appears to have 4 USB busses in System Profiler. I know that 2 are the ports on the back, and I've heard that the Bluetooth module connects via an internal USB port. What's the 4th port for? Were they planning on using that for iPod connectivity as well? Is it a left over port on the chip from when it was used in the eMac?

When you count USB busses in ASP, keep in mind that they list the 480 Mbps bus as a separate bus from the 12 Mbps bus even though physically, it's the same bus AFAIK. It's just that depending on what peripheral gets attached, the bus runs at higher or lower speed.

My PowerBook has just two USB ports too. But I get 4 busses listed. The first one's for the internal BT HCI and keyboard/trackpad, the second two are normal 12 Mbps busses, and finally the 480 Mbps bus is listed.

Hopefully, the next revision of the mini will be somewhere between 1.33GHz and 1.67GHz (or both) as far as speed goes.

The iPod dock would be nice since iPods no longer come with docks (damn you, Apple!). I'm glad my 40GB iPod came with all that costs extra on todays iPods. I don't feel so bad having paid the full blown $499 (plus tax!) for it.

Although I have to say that I like the idea of an integrated dock, I appreciate the current minimalistic design of the Mac mini. Not everyone owning a mini owns an iPod, too. And a cover to hide the dock when not used, c'mon, that's clutter!

Nah, I'd say keep the mini as simple as it gets. That's the idea of it, anyway.
