How do you find about mac mini+ACD20
There were once four people named Everybody, Somebody, Nobody and Anybody. Somebody had to do a job, but Nobody wanted to do it. Nobody could see that Anybody could do it, and Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job. Nobody ended up doing it, and it so happened that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

I'm still struggling to make sense of buying a monitor that costs as much as double the price of the computer itself.

Agreed; I'd have bought a G5 iMac for that price.

If you just have to have a 20" display, it'd make more sense to do some bargain-hunting and get the Dell 2005FPW at a discount (I've seen some people get it for around $500 US). Just be warned that you may need to RMA it before you get one with a good panel.

The monitor (to me) is the most important part of a computer purchase. It's focal point for the entire user experience. It's the only part of the computer you stare at for extended periods of time. A bad monitor can make a good computer intolerable to use. And it's an investment that can last much longer than the useful life of the computer itself. I always pay the most for a monitor, and it generally lasts me thru 2 or 3 computers.

I agree with JasonsRX7. A monitor should be something that you keep around for awhile. A good monitor is a necessity if your going to be using it for long periods. Well worth the money in my book.

Granted you start to fall into the region of a Imac G5 pretty quick. However Apple haven't published the specs on the Imac screen so I'm doubtful its as fast as the ACD.

Being on a budget I'm using a Samsung 172X. Which is serving quite nicely.

The local Apple stand has a Mini hooked to a 20. Its very nice. A good option if you want to splurge the extra readies.
