Hi all,

I have a MDD power mac dual 1Ghz, I think the first iteration of these machines. It has a standard built-in hard disk (80Gb). I want to buy a new hard disk, mainly to store my music library which is pushing 60Gb now.

Anyway, I have been looking around and can't figure out the first thing about what I need. ATA 100, 133 or what? Serial, IDE, something else?

I figure speed isn't so important as I do nothing with video. Is this presumption correct?

Any help appreciated!

just get an Ultra ATA / ATA133 HD and you'll be fine.

make sure it's 7200 RPM and has at least an 8MB Cache. then, check for capacity.

there are some damn big drives out
and the MDDs are a trivial unit to do installs in
