hello all,

did a search but couldn't find anything about the RAM order...

here goes:

I've bought a G5 DP 2.0, and I prefered to get the RAM upgrade elsewhere...
so it came with the stock 512MB

Now, I've ordered two DIMMS with 512MB, so I will get 1,5 GB of RAM

I know I have to install it in pairs from the centre outwards and respect the parity.

Now, what I don't know is if it matters the order of the modules:

Do I gain anything if I put the 512 modules in the start position and place the stock ones in the 2nd (respecting the parity, of course)

nope, doesn't matter. I added two gigs to my stock 2.0 and ended up with 2.5 gigs. just put 'em in pairs.

well, I just placed the new two 512 in the next slots.
Let's see if the mac doesn't have any problems.

I'll do the hardware test as soon as I can...

Yeah, order does not matter, as long as the modules are matched and they're in the matching slots.
