Hi all,
I have been researching the threads the past few weeks to help narrow down my kernel panics but havent been able to figure out what they are saying. I get them a couple times a day and when I dont, I get some garbled icons and dock crashes quite frequently. I think its my graphics card but this happens with both the original Rage 128 and the Radeon 8500 i bought to replace it. Two bad cards for bad AGP slot? I appreciate any feedback.

They all pretty much say the same thing. By the way, I have a Quicksilver Dual 800 with 512mb and 80gb hard drive. Using Radeon 8500 64mb card with DVI connector.
Thanks

I've been struggling to find the source of my kernel panics as well. Fortunately it seems i have found the problem.
When did you first notice the KPs? Was it after you've installed a certain application? What things have you done so far to find out what the problem might be (eg. re-install the operating system, repair permissions), or nothing yet?
Are you running any applications that modify how the OS looks (themes, transparent dock etc.)?
Cheers

I noticed the panics when I upgraded to 10.2.8 from 10.2. I used the combo updater both through the software update program as well as downloading it to the hard drive first before installing. I also went out and purchased 10.3 to see if that would fix the problem but still have the same issue.
I did have the LCC logitech keyboard software installed. When I reinstalled the OS it still had the same issues without that software too.

Did you use archive or erase and insall the last time you re-installed the operating system?
Archive may leave a corrupt file on your system which can cause KPs. If you haven't already tried, backup your important stuff and erase and install.
If your system has been functioning for a while without problems it is unlikely that a piece of hardware has failed causing KPs, so most probably it's a software issue somewhere.
Cheers
