Could you open the System Profiler and tell us what drive is put into your computer?
(Apple uses drives of several companies, so this is the only way to know for sure.)

If that accurate, I'm pretty impressed:
24x cdr.
My 52x Lacie external is really failing recently.
And my Lacie external DVD I think is even slower. you tell me it's a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR -106D
Maybe I'll just start burning everything internal. Only thing worry is wear and tear. I do lot of burning. What do you think? It would be real drag to have to haul this in for repair. You can't do a lot with busted drive, and I don't want to repair drives my self.

I'm sure on it.
4x DVD±R and I believe 2x DVD±RW
the apple ones only support - though, not +, although + is supported on the retail ones, which I have

thanks:
You know I think Link' info that my internal Mac is at 24x for CD-R must be wrong, because today I did a test, and Mac took exactly twice as long (CD-R) to burn than the Pioneer which I'm pretty sure is at 16X for CDr burning.
Using Toast at Best speed.
They were the same for DVD+R.
