Audio Personality Card on Beige G3 266 DT

Hello,

I recently came into possession of the Beige G3 266 DT system. Everything works fine except the audio personality card. I have attempted to do a clean reinstall of OS 9.1, reset the PRAM and CUDA multiple times, reseat the personality card into its slot, etc. Regardless of what I do, I get no sound. When I checked the sound control panel, there are no audio devices listed in the output or input tabs.

What else should I check? Is my audio personality card dead beyond all hope?

Which personality card do you have? No matter what, you should be able to buy a personality card on ebay for not too much money. If you plan to upgrade to OSX, I know that most of the ports on the advanced personality card don't function, but you should get basic audio out...

Hello,

The Personality card I have is the plain two port one...one minijack for speakers/headphones....one for the mic.
