I want to be able to use the ATI Displays control panel (with all the OpenGL overrides and stuff) on my Mac mini. I downloaded ATI Displays and installed it, but it doesn't give me any options. All it does is tell me some system info I already know. I also tried using "Radeon Enabler," but apparently the guy stopped developing that ever since ATI updated their displays control panel from 4.2.x to 4.4.x. The 4.4.x upgrade supposedly brought compatibility with OEM video cards, but it doesn't let me do anything the way I'd be able to with a different card. Furthermore, Radeon Enabler just plain doesn't work with 4.4.x, but I can't find 4.2.x available for download anywhere at all. Every link just points to the official ATI site, and of course they don't keep any old versions available.

Anyone know what I can do? The mini is a really poor game performer and I need to be able to drop the features for extra performance wherever I can. I would have asked at XLR8YourMac, but they haven't been accepting new registrations for what seems like years now, and there's no way to contact them even.

You don't need to ask them, they already answered it a few days ago

Good to hear!

As for the monitor rotation, supposedly we'll get that with Tiger:

Too bad my LCD doesn't have a pivot mount or anything.

Um... read my post. It's Tiger. I don't know which build specifically, but hopefully we'll get the functionality in the final release.

Better that Apple adds built-in support instead of depending on ATI to write the monitor rotation drivers. ATI is way too lazy when it comes to Mac support. I'm actually surprised they started supporting OpenGL overrides for OEM cards.

This means that any graphics card can do rotation without the need for special software. Before, only certain retail Radeons could.
