My Power Mac G4 466 has a fried logic board. Can I put the hard drive in my G4 867 as a slave drive and recover data? I have data backed up from the beginning of the March, but I would like to avoid having to update two months of work.

Should work fine. There's an empty space and extra IDE and power cables for doing just such a thing right above the main drive in your 867. Hopefully, the pin settings to make it slave are printed somewhere on the drive, but if not, you can usually find them online.
