Ordered another GB of RAM from Crucial. When I add RAM to a system, I like to run memory tests to make sure everything checks out.

So I removed my old ram and put in 2 512MB Crucial DIMMS. Attempted to boot Apple Hardware Test CD 1.2.6 and encountered instant errors. "Invalid memory access". I remove one 512 DIMM, same error occurs. I swap out the 512 DIMM I left in there with the one I just took out, same error. Now I'm thinking it is possible that one DIMM could be bad, but what are the chances that both are bad at the same time.

I boot into OS X and do a google on Apple Hardware Test fails to boot. A few clicks later I find this, Apple Hardware Test CD: Computer Starts Into Open Firmware.

Thought I just give a heads up to anyone who encounters this error in the future.

FYI, I attempted to search the forums, but for me, the search function is not working. The database errors out.
