So I overclocked my beige G3 MT and it ran fine for quite a while. I opened it up today and wiggled stuff around a bit to try and figure out the best place to wire up a new fan. Anything I unplugged I re-plugged, I was sure to ground myself well, I did take out the hard drive, but I put that back in. Now when I start up, there is no tone and the light on the computer does not come one. I can hear the power supply's fans running, and the light on the top of the HD is on, but nothing happens. Did I fry something???

What do you have it overclocked up to? Have you tried to reset the PRAM? Hold down Apple-Option-P-R at start-up. Try going back to the original clock rate and see if it will work. Did you move any of the RAM modules? Also, try re-seating any of your PCI cards if you have any.

I doubt you fried anything. Sounds like something that would be an easy fix.

Okay, it wasn't stable at 333 Mhz, so I had it down to 300/75 and it was stable as heck. I took the RAM out and put it back it, re-checked all the cables, set it back to the original clock speed, then she started right up. Phew, dodged a bullet there. Thanks!

Okay, she's back up to 333/83 now that I've installed a heatsink fan. It's been playing a ~40 meg quicktime movie looped at full screen for almost two hours now with no problems. Except it's a bit choppy. That extra VRAM chip i grabbed off of eBay will help!
