I've done some searching and have found multiple ways to connect to my Windows XP computer (which is not sitting in a closet with nothing but power and a Cat-5 now that I have my first Mac!) but am having trouble finding solutions to do the same to my OS X.
Before I received the Mac I RAS'd to my home XP PC from work (which is also XP) more or less all day so I can work on personal business as well as work (shhh)
I'd like to do the same now that my Mac Mini is my primary computer. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

.Mac. Can access your iDisk even on XP. It's one solution. Apple Remote is another.

Can you install a VNC client on the machines involved?

Thanks for the quick reply!
Are you referring to this? http://www.apple.com/remotedesktop/
They do have WinXP based software to go with that? I didn't see a mention on their page for XP Support.
At the risk of sounding cheap, are there any free solutions similarly to how RAS comes included in XP? VNC an option (compared to ease of use which is important to me)

I have full control of both machines. But as I mentioned keeping things simple, clean and straightforward is my overall goal. I am not familiar with VNC except in my old OpenBSD days and want to prevent headaches! (why i got the mini!)

Great, thanks! So I will install this on my OS X and then use any old VNC client on the WinXP box? Any suggestions?

I think you should find a client on that site as well (for your XP machine). If not, I think XP has one installed? Or as you suggested, any old VNC client. I used this from my office W2k machine to talk to home mac for a long while.

Today was the trial day. I have to say VNC was a bit dissapointing. It's very sluggish. XP RAS ran very smooth except when Animated graphics came into play. I have the speed settings set for what I'm using but that didn't seem to help much. Any tips?

Try decreasing the resolution and the color depth of the Mac, then there'll be less information to transmit. Perhaps it can be AppleScript-able so that it will change the settings while you're on your way to work, then revert them before you come home.
