this is a BTO before you purchase the computer, but can you buy the airport extreme card and just install it into a slot inside the g5 later on? Or is it too late now?

It's very easy to install an AirPort card at any time. AirPort is a user-installable part in all of Apple's machines (except the mini). The G5 ships with the small external antenna you will need, whether you CTO it with AirPort or not.

Yep, the card will fit in the PowerMac.
Your G5 came with an Airport antenna. It's a white T-shaped thing with an Airport logo on one side, it plugs into a port on the back of the computer.

How do you install the airport card on a PowerMac G5 ? Are there Instructions, I haven't had any luck on Apple.com or Google. Maybe I am not searching well enough but...

I've done it on my iBook but it seems les easy for the G5.

Could someone point me in the right direction, thanks!

It's as easy as your iBook, maybe easier.

made me think about the following:

How do you get an elephant in a fridge?
-> Open the door of fridge, put the elaphant in, close the door.

How do you get a giraffe in a fridge?
-> Open door of fridge, get the elephant out, put the giraffe in, close the door.

But essentially that is what it is: open door of PowerMac, stick in the Airport Card, close the door, stick the T-antenna (external) in its slot outside on the back.
There is no step 5!

Why don't you open your G5 and look inside or, better yet, refer to your G5 documentation?
