i'm in the middle of a big decision on whether to get a dual 2.7GHz powermac g5 now, or hold off just incase apple announces a new model at WWDC or at MacWorld Expo. But I doubt it, they just announced new powermacs this week...

what do you guys think? I don't think we will see new powermac updates for awhile, it took almost a year for these recent powermac updates to come.

You can hold off forever if you're afraid of new updates, they will always come, when is the big question...

I was wondering the same things. My decision has been made however, by Digidesign. They will not have a Tiger comptaible Pro Tools for another 8-10 weeks... which puts thats a couple weeks "after" WWDC... seems curious to me. These new G5 bumps remind me of the G4 FW800 models... weren't they a very short release cycle before the G5's came out...? I have a tiny feeling something will be released at the WWDC, perhaps one new top model with a new processor. I think Digi is waiting for that. Either way, I have no choice but to wait for Pro Tools.

WWDC?!? You're joking, right? Apple's not going to release something new in 2 months. New PowerMacs will NOT be announced at WWDC. Likely the next update will be MWSF in January 2006 or later.

I agree that there won't be new PMacs at WWDC, but it's not as if the haven't done this before. The AluBook came out only 2 months after the last TiBook was released.

Also, I'd hope for a late 2005 Power Mac update, or WWDC 2006 at the latest.

I'd say paris would be the earliest unless they come out with some sort of x-station like high end machine.
