Could somebody who has one of the new Power Macs (2.0/2.3/2.7) take a look at it and tell me what voltage it requires? The manual from the 2004 versions indicates they accept 100-240V, that is, one could hook up the same computer without any problem in both Europe and the US (as long as you have a plug adapter). The tech specs on the new version seem to indicate it's now either/or--100-120V for North America and 200-240V for Europe, etc. I'd be interested in reports from both the US and Europe--actually the latter is more important to me.

The reason I ask is that I currently live in Germany, but plan to move back to the US in a couple of years. I would like to buy one of the dual 2.7's, but would like to buy a machine that I can take back with me without worrying about power requirements. Many manufacturers make equipment that accepts either voltage, but some seem to be moving away from completely "internationalized" products. HP for example now region-codes their printers and print cartridges so that you have to buy cartridges in the same region you buy the printer. I hope Apple isn't heading in the same direction...

I just bought my PowerMac in Japan and the power adapter says it accepts all sorts of voltage (110-240V and 50or60 Hz)

A post I recently read indicated that the new Macs (iMacs specifically, I believe) are even more internationally friendly, but I am not too familiar with international voltage and conversion issues.

Thanks for checking! I finally found the new PM manual on line, which confirms the new line is dual-voltage as well (the tech specs were a little confusing...). My dual 2.7 is ordered--now for a couple weeks of looking forward to its arrival!

Do you mean it accepts both voltage levels without having to flick the switch on the back of the power supply?
