greetings all!

How much faster do you think a Dual 800 Mhz G4 with over a GB of RAM be versus a Powerbook 1Ghz with 768 MB RAM?

I am using this for music production, running Pro Tools?

Would the Dual blow it away, or be mildly faster?

just curious.

many thanks!

I would classify it as 'significant'.

Almost twice the processing power, plus ram over a Gb will make it a noticeably faster than the PB.

Sweet! I need more track and plug in count for my pro tools sessions, but love the PB for remote recordings. There's is a local deal for a complete system, flat-screen monitor, with 1.5 GB SDRAM, for $650. Seems like a good deal

thanks!
