Hey folks,

I'm intending on buying one of the new 20" iMacs once I get my tax rebate for this year in (I graduate from Uni in a couple of months so need to make use of the edu discount while it's still applicable ). Is there anyone who has already bought one and confirm whether it's possible to enable monitor spanning (presumably using Screen Spanning Doctor)?

Monitor spanning with my PowerBook has really changed the way I work so it's kind of a deal breaker whether this works or not.. If not I'd be "forced" to get a PowerMac and buy another monitor. Fairly hefty price differential.

Cheers,
Neil

Screen Spanning Doctor is evidently safe enough on iMac G5s for Macworld's editors to run a feature story on it. It's possible that Apple tweaked something to make it incompatible on the new iMac G5, but it probably does work.

Please forgive me if I scoff at the Macworld Seal Of Approval -- Macworld used to be respectable, it's a rag now. But my hunch is that since the Radeon 9600 supports dual displays, and has been used in other Macs with dual-display supports (including a mobile variant used in PowerBooks), it'll do fine.
