hi
i wanted a g5 2.7 and to use it with my 22 cinema screen adc.
now the 2.7 doesnt hav adc :-(
can you reccommend some video card to buy from ebay thats good for the 2.7.
also is it an easy job to replace myself ?
im okay at fitting memory lol!
i already have the dvi - adc adapter for my powerbook to 22'..which works fine but when i plug my motu firewire audio and amp+ speakers, i get a high pitch whine from the speakers !
i turned off my amp , and theres no hum thru the headphones from the motu..so somethin to do with the adapter and speakers or amp...
and idea what to try to get rid of the whine ?
i tried the adtpter with a 2.5 thru its dvi to see if it gives a whine too..and it does...
i only need th eg5 for music iwth logic pro..so any help would be great.
i ordered a end of line g5 2.5 ..but didnt come with tiger and it was scratched..so a bit old..
so i gave up on that...id like a new shiney one anyway :-)
i been using macs since Lc2 !
oh by the way i called tech support and asked a simple question..
" can i take out the old video card from my g4 967 and use it in the g5 2.7 ? "
it took them 20 mins to answer ..go to an apple shop and look at a 2.7 yourself..
then they said go to our website and you can see the specs...
so ? i said ..what will that tell me..
its a simple question...they said they dont know...ask apple sales dept when you order..(who insidently said phone tech support"http://forums.macnn.com/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=65#
can any one answer that question too please
