Okay, so now that I've decided (I think) to replace my 17" RevA PowerBook with a Dual G5 PowerMac, I need to decide which to buy. Here are my questions:

I've never shopped an Apple desktop before, so I'm not sure if there are significant differences betweeen low, mid, and high end models, like there were on the PowerBooks.

1) I don't think I can afford a Dual 2.7, so is the Dual 2.3 worth the extra money vs the Dual 2.0?

2) I'd like to be able to do HD video editing in the near future (although I don't use it now), along with Motion. I also do some mild Photoshop work and some pretty heavy Pro Audio.

Considering HD is on the wish list...do I go with the 23" ACD? Or do I go with 2 x 20" ACD and not be able to display full res HD?

3) And, if I had to choose between the Dual 2.3 and one 20" ACD or the Dual 2.0 with either the 23" or 2x20" ACDs, is the 2.3 still worth it?? I'm not sure I'll have to make that choice, but what if...

4) Finally, I plan to upgrade the RAM and Video Card apart from Apple, but I want Bluetooth connectivity. Should I wait the extra few days to get BTO built-in BT, or is this an upgrade I can do just as well on my own, along with the RAM and Video Card?

Wow... lots of questions..

1) The 2.3 adds a more Mhz (300 Mhz x 2), 4 RAM slots (8 total) and a bigger drive to start and PCI-X slots. Personally, I think the 2.3 is worth it for long term (meaning 4 years)

2) I would go with the 23" since it gives you plenty of space and when you earn more money you can add ANOTHER 23" and be in heaven.

3) Dual 2.3 w/ 23"

4) Internal BT is not easy to add on, so I would get it from Apple. Upgrade everything else yourself.

I went with the dual 2.3. The extra RAM slots are what pushed me over the top. I had Apple install the BT and AE, and I installed an extra 2G of RAM myself. I'm very happy with the machine.

I went with the 20" ACD, which looks and works great, although I don't do any video editing.
