I have a dual 1.8 powermac that I think has the OBN as described here: http://forums.macnn.com/archive/t-180779.html

I have taken the computer into two service centers. They both kept the computer for two weeks and they both told me nothing was wrong. In the link above one person describes how he put some oil into the fans and that got rid of the noise. Since I can't get any help from these service centers I thought I would try the oil "trick." Only problem is I don't know how to remove the heatsinks/heatsink cover so I can open the bottom pannel covering the power supply. Does anyone know of a guide, pdf, or SOMETHING that will tell me how to do this? There IS a link there that describes how to get at the powersupply but its for the single cpu powermac which of course doesn't have the 2nd cpu blocking the pannel at the bottom of the case.

Right, I wouldn't try that unless the warranty was over and I was willing to destroy the computer. Might work, might cause damage...you never know (I've been repairing satellite communications electronics for 15 years, BTW). If it's the fans, why not replace them completely?

Applecare SHOULD have taken care of it but it didnt. Like I said I took it into two places and both tell me there is nothing wrong yet the noise is still there. Its not loud but I still find it annoying. They probably have multiple computers running in those repair shops so unless the sound is really loud they probably coulnd't even hear it. The computer has been in the repair shop for a month between these two places all for nothing so I dont expect to get any results if I take it to a 3rd place.

I would just replace the fans except I have no idea where to get g5 power supply fans or what other type of fan would be ok to use. Plus there is still the problem of not being able to get at them.

If AppleCare can't fix your problem maybe you need to talk to a manager or someone at Apple. A warranty is a warranty, they are obligated to correct deficiencies or problems. If they can't fix it, maybe a replacement is in order. I'd push them to correct it one way or another.
