I'm in the UK. My iMac was collected from Cork, Ireland on Friday 13th, I've heard nothing until this morning, when now it is in Luxembourg!!! It's flown straight over my head!!

Are Apple's logistics powered by Microsoft perhaps?

Just wait until it actually makes it to the UK, only then will you know the true meaning of slow.

When I bought my iBook G4 in November 2003, it took a week to leave Taiwan, spent 2 days in Luxembourg, another week in Holland, and then arrived at a depot in Colnbrook (near Heathrow Airport, about 2 miles from my house) and stayed there for a fortnight. I was tearing my hair out. It was so close I would've happily walked to the depot to pick it up.

They said they've refined the system now, but I don't believe it. Little things arrive quick enough, but when you order a new computer it seems to take forever from what I've heard.

It'll be worth it when it arrives at least.

Just phoned Apple, and because I bought AppleCare it had to go from Cork to Luxembourg to have the AppleCare put in the box. WHAT THE FU.... I thought I was buying a bit of paper saying I had AppleCare, I didn't think my iMac would be sent on a sodding holiday! She said I should probably still get it this week, but her closing line was 'good luck'.

Great.

Well it's now out for delivery apparently, though still in Luxembourg!

I do hope it comes tomorrow...

Oddly enough, its been this way for years and is perfectly normal for Apple and their logistics company. Bloody annoying tho it is.. One order is often sent around several European destinations before you finally get it.
Much of my Apple stuff has seen more of Europe than I have
The worst thing about having a failing memory is..... no, it's gone.

Jigsaw are a great company, but I wanted the interest free credit and wireless keyboard and mouse so had no option but to use the Apple Store. I just pray to the Lord of the Pixies that I have no dead pixels when it finally arrives...

Friday now and it's still not been passed to TNT. Not impressed! I go on holiday in a week and it would be nice to get the damn thing before I go!

They STILL haven't handed it to TNT yet. Totally pi%%ed off now and I won't get it until next Wednesday, if I'm lucky. Sorry Apple but your delivery system SUCKS.

Well I hope you have better luck with TNT then I did with my Tiger pre-order. TNT first shipped it to the wrong depot, then it came back to the right one where it just sat in the warehouse for two weeks. TNT finally shipped it back to Apple (at my request) since it was no use to me by that time.

Sorry! I'm sure the wait will make it all the better when you get it.

I ordered my iMac 20" (stock, not BTO) on Wednesday at 1300 and it arrived at my door on Friday at 1200! No special shipping option. I imagine I just got lucky but 47 hours from order->arrival is pretty impressive.

Apple online has terrible shipping. The past three things I've been from them (in the UK) has been delayed because they don't put the post-code on the destination address. Meaning I have to order, wait for it to reach the depo and then ring the company up and tell them where to send it, usually adding 2-3 days wait. And each time I talk to the companies they say it's a regular occurrence with Apple.

So you're not alone in "WTF!" moments.

Just checked the boxes of the last couple of things I ordered from Apple and they all have the PostCode on it... not to sound condescending but are you sure your postcode is set in your AppleStore preferences?

Sorry to hear that. Luckily for me when I ordered my PB, which was done through ADC -- they took the whole 1st day processing the order but because I made sure they shipped that sucker out -- even at 11pm, it got to my door the next morning (HUGE surprise).

Don't worry though, I'm sure it'll be more than worth the wait
Aloha
