eMac problem, bad ram?

I have an eMac 1.25 Ghz with the stock 256 RAM configuration. The eMac will randomly shut off for no apparent reason. I tried the Apple Hardware Test and the computer will shut down when testing the RAM. Is this the sign of a bad RAM? Thanks.
