I don't understand why PC's score are 3x faster than Mac in HD tests? Single SATA driver won't be that fast, must be RAID or something.

Am I the only one who thinks that writing style is like that of a 12 year old?

It looks like they have used a hardware raid controller with caching and according to Dell's site, U320 SCSI. What a poor review not to point out the specs of all the hardware in question...

It's a crappy article, completely ignoring that comparing a single real-world app is a terrible comparison, since that is entirely dependent on how well the app is optimized. (We have no reason to believe that Adobe has optimized its video apps for G5s.)

In real life I don't think the workstation would be a very enjoyable PC. It doesn't come with alot of features, and the software looked abysmal. Which means your going to have to load stuff yourself which means more $$$ and less integration. Something the Macs seem to excell at. Not to mention at the price your talking about it looks horrendous.

It is kind of odd that no specs would be listed. Something is fishy about the HDD, but hey its always a "run what ya brung" type thing.

1) After Effects is one of the things he does for a living, so of course he's going to test that.
2) After Effects is a program that has been used by Mac geeks to show how good Macs are.

The Dell Precision 470 series have RAID 0 as a build-to-order option.
