My iMac does not have bluetooth, and I was wondering if I could buy the actual part from Apple and open my imac and just add it in? Versus buying a USB adapter, I don't want to use up my usb ports...
Has anyone else done this?

No, you can't. Bluetooth is on the motherboard. You'll have to use the USB adapter route, which is about equivalent.

The USB adaptor is. Just plug it in go as bluetooth is already pre-configured on the Mac.

Ok did it, and now it gives me the error message that my bluetooth hardware doesn't support a headset... I want to use my Jabra BT200 with iChat, do you guys know if the DBT-120 from D-Link that Apple.com sells does support it?

It does if you install a firmware update, IIRC. Check with D-link.
