I walked in to find a frozen screen saver on one of our lab (science, not computer lab) Macs. It was suffering from the SBOD and was completely unresponsive to any keyboard input. SSH into the machine also failed.

I figured no problem; just hard reset and subsequently run Applejack in SUM. Nope. All I got was a gray screen...no Apple logo, no nothing.

I tried to Cmd-Opt-Shift-Delete and got the flashing ? folder. Oh, ok. Tried DiskWarrior next (after having to go into open firmware to get the CD tray open).

DiskWarrior wouldn't see the hard drive at all. The drive didn't show up in either the directory or hardware pop up menus.

I RTFM over and over on how to get DiskWarrior to see the hard drive with no luck.

Is the hard drive on this machine FUBARed? This was a new hard drive replaced in the last year.

eMac running 10.2.8; not sure of the specs.
