this is only on the current line of PowerMacs Please!

when does apple ( in the past) usually anounce advancements in its powermac line? various conferences?

what might we expect ? i know this is pure spec, but whats in the 'pipeliine' as jobs said?

this is a real question: what might I expect in 6 m or 9 m or 1 year, about my plans for a new powermac?

In a year's time, Steve said they'd have Intel products on the market. I expect one or two more PowerPC updates to the Power Mac & possibly iMac lines before this happens, though. Something like another small speed bump. I doubt Apple will invest in bringing things like PCI-Express to the G5 platform if they'll be dumping that architecture for future models.

Steve said they have PowerPC updates planned; so that's at least one.

The Power Mac line will probably be the last line to go Intel, for a number of reasons. So I'm guessing we can still count on two more PowerPC revisions, maybe three. This is assuming Apple is going to continue with their 9+ month update cycle.
