Hi,

I have a old G4 466 (digital audio).

I recently got given a chip and heatsink out of a G4 867(quicksilver).

I tried to install it, fits perfectly, no problems at all.

Machine wont boot up, no magical beep or anything.

Can i make this work? do i need to do i bios upgrade or anything like that???

Any suggestions etc appreciated!

Cheers, G

Interesting, especially because a digital audio board IS a quicksilver board (some have slight differences though), you sure that's a DA and not a different model? The CPU module is all the way at the top and back? Odd.

yep it will work because I have exactly the same combo. Go to XLR8yourmac.com and search the FAQ for Quicksilver in a DA powermac or something like that. Esentually you need to run a +12V wire to the 4th post of the processor card (the one that didnt match the DA motherboard. Then it will power up.
Idiot... Slow down
