Never tried this daisy chain feature, but so far I am not impressed.

I am having repeated troubles with the following lashup:

iMac G5/Tiger 10.4.1 connected to external FW400/800/USB2.0 drive via Firewire 400-800 cable. iPod 40gig connected to external drive via Firewire 400 cable (daisy-chained).

When trying to update iPod in iTunes, the update stops prematurely and I get the following error message:

Attempting to copy to the disk "my iPod" failed. An unknown error occured (-36).

Anybody know how to solve this? Does it have anything to do with the fact I am using a Firewire 400-800 cable?

What sucks is this iMac has two Firewire ports. I have three Firewire devices (iSight, iPod, and drive).
