Im hoping as this is mostly a hardware question, I have borrowed an Apple hardware Test CD and would like to run it on my G4dual 1gz
apple says to disconnect all external devices ( printer etc ) no big deal
but also to remove 3d pary cards. thats a much bigger deal as I have several.

does this really matter? Id like to test my memory.

its interesting that I have two G4 duals same model, one mine and one my fathers. purchased a few months apart. each CD that came with it ( apple hardware test) did not work. it didn't test them.

I never got around to clearing this up, so Id like to run the CD before I remove the cards as maybe this cd doesn't work either/

hope Im clear

I would just try it. The worst that can happen iis that it tells you to remove them, or fails because of them. But more likely it will just test the memory as if nothing.

Took

I took your suggestion and ran the test with the computer as is, cards in all wires up.

it said both in the short and long test my memory was ok

TechToolDelux said it was oK too.

I have a crash log from a prigram called iTele that seems to have a prioblem with memory.
Im not much of a crashlog reader.

Id like to post it somewhere to see if a season CL reader can help me understand the problems. should I post in Applications non apple?

thanks rotuts

Is it only that particular application that's crashing, or is the instability more general (system-wide)? If it's just that one application acting up, there's virtually no chance that it's your RAM.
