Liquid,i've been dreaming if buying this machine since they launched Rev A...i'm a avid fan of Apple and i know what are the implications of buying this machine now with the Intel announcements, but i know that i will be supported for many years, the OS is great and it'll give me the oportunity to start learning video editing.I couldn't be happier and i would recommend you buying the 2.0.It's with a good price, has enough upgrade options if you don't need lots of ram and all the speed of PCI-X and will last for years.

Congrats on your purchase! My new PM Dual 2.5 arrived yesterday, as did my 2 gigs of ram upgrade, but I'm stuck at work all weekend. Only had enough time to open the box and oogle at it. Man I can't wait to get home! I'll post pics once I get it set up.

Well I just got back from Microcenter since they're much closer but they didn't have any dual 2.0's in stock so i just decided i'll wait another few weeks, it'll give me a chance to save up more cash.

btw: that 30in ACD is obscenely huge

I just went to Microcenter last night and picked-up a 2GHz DP myself. I've had some really nice Macs including my 1.67 GHz 17" PowerBook, but this thing is a beast. I upgrade Macs every 1-2 years so the Intel thing really doesn't bother me. I could see using this as my home server when it's time to upgrade too.

Go for it!

Got my Dual 2.5 from the Apple store. Certified Refurb. I noticed once I got confirm email of order in process, the box wasn't listed on the Apple Store site.

Finally got to unbox it and fire it up. Still need to install my RAM, but all the patches are loaded as is WoW. Oh I have that Sony Superdrive so I need to find those instructions for upgrading it to make it dual layer.

Sigh. I just ended up buying a dual 2.5 today. I'm not unhappy, very
happy actually but I was plagued with indecision...heh.

The store had a dual 2.7 (demo model) for sale and I could have gotten it.
Why not? I ended up getting a dual 2.5.

They took $700 off the original price of the 2.5 and then tossed in 3 years of
Applecare free so the dual 2.5 was the way to go. I also seriously considered the
2.3 but the 2.5 made for total of 5K mhz between them, a nice number so I went
with that.

I also am using a Princeton 19" digital LCD flat panel so this is a long way
from my G4/400 with 17" giganto studio display. Significantly faster than
the old machine and a happier view all the way. I now have to wait for the
migration assistant to finish sucking all of my old data off the old box by
firewire (slick) but I already am quite pleased.

Good deals all I think. And yes, I got mine at Microcenter too. The $100
rebate was an incentive that I can use for ram.

I got the apple cinema 23" display. Both items were factory refurbs. Think I saved a bit over $700 with Apple Care.

I don't see any cosmetic issues with the one I bought. It is simply beautiful. The wife came in to my home office as I was installing patches last night and upgrading to Tiger. Her words: "Wow!"
