Hello,
I've posted here a limited number of times - and am happy to report that I received my new 2GHz 20" iMac on Saturday the 11th - the estimated day of delivery.
So far, everything has been flawless. No dead pixels, nothing to complain about in the fan noise department, and my DVDs have played fine. (Knocking on wood)
I think I might have a problem though.
I was showing my brother my setup (he is currently a Windows user - let's see if I can convert him, too!) and showed him how easily a DVD can be played on this machine. So I pulled out Donnie Darko, plopped it in the side, and DVD player went to work flawlessly. I started up the movie, and he and I happened to notice at the top right-hand corner of the screen that there appears to be a dim (but somewhat noticable) bright "zone" near the CD/DVD drive. Is this something to worry about? I'm thinking it is being caused by the drive itself - since it's right up near that area of the screen.
Here are some pictures:
With a naked eye you can't see those other areas of lightness at the bottom of the screen - so I think that was caused by the digital camera I used. In fact, the bright area at the top looks worse in the photos and is much, much more noticeable than it is in person.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jason
