My buddy at work just got a mac mini. We have an older 17inch apple screen (the last 17inch screen apple made). I believe it has an ADC connector and the mini has DVI.

Is the only way to get them to work together is to buy that 99 dollar adpater apple sells.

That just sucks if it is. Apple seems mean for doing that.

That's the way it's done.

Apple's not really trying to spite you, either. It's a different technology that isn't 100% compatible with new standards.

It works (I have that on my old Apple 15), and yes, you do need the adaptor.
