Hi Everyone!
I have a PowerMac G4 MDD dual running @ 867Mhz, and as we all know you can put up to 4 hard drives inside this beauty! so, I already have 3 installed, the build-in one (60GB), an old one (20GB) that is running Mac OS 9, and a storage HD (80GB), well, the time has past, and suddenly my storage HD is FULL and I use whats inside everyday, it has my audio proyects and my graphic designs, so, I need it installed. thats why I bought a brand new 250 GB, and when I install it, and turn it on, I just have two disks on my desktop! it suposed to be FOUR! the one that has all my works its gone too! so I open my mac again and disconnected the new Hard drive and boot again and like magic I have all my 3 disks again! something happens when I plug the new hard drive, I just want to know what I have to do? I set the jumper in slave mode like the others, do I have to doit differently or what? why when the new is connected the other one that is in the same place disappear? and when I disconnect the new one the other appear right away? it never happend to me before with the others I installed. I just need more space and something is wrong, maybe its the jumper settings... if you can help me I will really apreciate it. thanxs

Is the 250 set to Master and the smaller drive to Slave?

(Your signature is too big BTW. Image + one line of text.)

I believe that every ATA device in a MDD machine needs to be Cable Select. Hard disks, optical drives, everything.

As far as I know, disks on ATA buses are to be mounted in pairs, one master and one slave, but no more than one of each and two altogether.
You do not say whether you got a PCI card for the third disk, or where such disk is connected.
Maybe to the ATA ribbon under the DVD?
And where the fourth just added?

OK, the third disk is under the optical drives ( the dvd and the CD-RW) and in that case you can put two drives, thats where I put the new one... the third and the new are in that place, both in Slave mode, so, I need to put it in cable select or in master ??
