hey guys,

just got a mac mini. Should i get PC2700 512mb RAM, or PC2700 1gig RAM

is the 1gig really worth the extra money over the 512bmb?

You need to describe your intended use for the computer... but I'm guessing, with 92% certainty that the 1GB is worth it.

You do not want to page swap on this computer. Oh lordy, take me now!

The only difference you'll see is that with 1gb, you can have more apps open without bogging down.

With 1 GB RAM, does Photoshop (working with 6 MP shots), Illustrator (working with 20-30 MB files), Mail and Safari/Firefox (3-4 tabs MacNN Forum open) run smooth?

I would recommend 1GB, if you can afford it. When I had my 700mhz eMac, I maxed it out to 1GB and I was pretty happy with it.

I put a GB into my 1.42 mini. Do it. Also get an external faster hard drive cause the internal is only 4200
