I am very interested in purchasing an iMac -- although I may wait until the units with the Intel chips come available...
Anyway, I was just curious about the bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Obviously they run on batteries -- what's the life of those batteries??

Battery life -- exactly the reason I haven't bought either one. Besides, I like multi-button mice. But, until Apple provides the products with rechargable batteries, I'm not buying them.

I have the Apple bluetooth keyboard. Battery life is fairly good. I use it about 50% of the time I'm at my Powerbook; it's never switched off (tho it automatically goes to sleep after a while), and I've changed the batteries twice in seven months.
Can't help you with the Apple BT mouse ... the one I use is the Logitech MX900 optical mouse. Since I have integrated bluetooth I don't need to use the base as a receiver, so I just plug into the power outlet. I've never run the batteries all the way down, but I make sure to set the mouse on the cradle to charge when I'm going to be away from the computer for a while. An added bonus is that you can program all the extra buttons to activate Expose and Dashboard.

I've been happy with the bluetooth keyboard so far. Still shows full power after lots of usage the first couple of weeks.
I sold the BT mouse without ever using it. Got the logitech laser MX 1000 instead with rechargable battery. I've had to recharge it once in the same time period.
I recommend the keyboard, but I'd get another mouse, be it BT or not.

Well i'm using the Apple BT keyboard and I must say I'm pretty impressed with it. Had it since the begining of May and use it every day and sometimes when my brother is home he uses it for 5-6 hours at a time. I'm only down one spot on the battery meter.
For a BT mouse believe it or not I use the MS BT mouse. The dongle works with the Apple Keyboard as well so it's all good. I like it since it's a multi button mouse.

I've been using the Apple bluetooth keyboard and Logitech MX900 bluetooth mouse. Both work great and the keyboard is showing 4/5 power meter bars and I never turn it off. I have drained the mouse before but that was after a good while of not putting it on its charger.
Both have been a great experience.
