Hi folks,
Quick note to see if anyone has experienced this or knows a fix.
I started downloading a couple of things with the new Bit Torrent but when I leave them to run they stop – seems to stop when the computer is idle. There is obviously something not right as the iMac G5 (new version) fan kicks into high gear – activity monitor shows BitTorrent is taking up 97% of CPU capacity.
Has anyone experienced problems with BitTorrent under Tiger?

BitTorrent kicks my PowerBook fan into gear too. But it's actually not the downloading, it's just the GUI. Make sure you hide BitTorrent while it's downloading and you'll see there's much less noise.

I let my Rev B 17" Download a Torrent File for the first time the other night. This is about the only thing that doesnt rev my fan up. Fans sat at 1500RPM, Cpu useage was almost nill.

How did you manage to measure your fan rpm?

Azureus on my Mac Mini sits around 2-5% CPU under Tiger. Which Bittorrent program are you using? Try checking the console to see if you are getting any errors generated.

I second tomato torrent. I used it after tiger went public when bit torrent wasn't playing nice w/ tiger. Haven't gone back. nice little app that hogs only 2%- 5% of my cpu.
