hey guys, my friend has a powermac g4 thats acting crazy and were not sure whats going on with it. he has several different partitions on it and was switching over from a jaguar partition, to panther. When the computer rebooted a grey screen came up with a little flashing world icon in the middle. we shut the computer down, tried restarting and itt just keeps coming back with this. does anyone have any clue what this could be, or how do remedy it?? thanx in advance for any help.

It's trying to or thinking it should be boot off a network drive. Hold the option key as it's booting and it will give you a choice of the system folders you can start up on.

Choose the one you want, hit the button with the right arrow, and you should be golden.

If you left it at the globe screen for a minute or so it would probably kick through to a normal startup as well.
