Quarkxpress 6.0 files are now unix executable files in tiger

Quarkxpress files are not being properly associated with the application.
They are showing up as uxix executable files.
The quarkxpress icon is no longer viewable.
The file names do not have any extension names.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem other than opening the files through the application?
Thank you

Does this behavior persist after re-booting? Sometimes the Finder just gets confused. If so, get info... on a file, change "open with..." to Quark, and hit the change all button.

This thread would have been better off in Software.
