If you can please Help!

I've got a G5 2.5 PMac running 10.3.9, with a speedtouch 330 ADSL usb modem attached. Having major problems. Every 2nd or third time I wake my computer from sleep (wait for the full green lights on the modem) and then try and manually connect again to the internet the machine frezees and connecting/disconnecting just scrolls endlessly accross the menu bar. More often than not all I can do is click restart which then brings aboiut a kernal panic (restart screen) when I first started using the computer I had the modem on auto connect. Everytime I woke the computer in the morning it would instantly give me a kernal panic.

I have downloaded the latest driver, run disk permissions etc nothing seems to help. I have read a few articles about problems with sleep crashes due to ram. I did buy the machine with two 512mb chips upgrade, but it does seem to mess up only when the modem is activated. Please can anyone suggest something to try or confim the problem.

Many thanks

Joel

Get a real (ethernet) DSL modem. Some Mac users have been able to endure the hell that is USB DSL land, but it's really not worth it if you have the alternative.
